World Economic Forum on the Middle East 2008
|
|
Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, 17-19 May 2008
|
The challenges currently facing the Middle East are now well known. Less well understood are the alternative futures for the region under various scenarios, and what these mean for policy-makers and business leaders today.
This event will take an entirely new approach to addressing the urgent issues in the Middle East. It will be based around collaborative problem solving, experience sharing, scenario planning and focused networking.
Participants will be exposed to visionary leaders and will explore future opportunities in areas such as IT, natural resources, security, and arts and culture. The programme will also link the Middle East with the latest thinking on broader global issues.
Co-Chairs
Khalid Abdulla-Janahi, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Shamil Bank of Bahrain, Switzerland; Vice-Chairman, Arab Business Council
Mohammed Alshaya, Chairman, Alshaya Group, Kuwait
Jimmy Wales, Founder and Chair Emeritus, Wikia, USA
