Description of services provided:
Africa Alive! is active in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe .

Africa Alive! has four key areas of focus: Communication, Advocacy, Fundraising and building capacity of Networks. It designs, implements and evaluates proven communication program practices for behavior change at the national, community and individual level; Lobbies among policymakers for greater focus on youth issues, particularly around HIV/AIDS prevention; Generates and leverages funds from the public and private sector to support youth programmes in Africa; Builds networks of HIV/AIDS and youth organizations active in AIDS prevention activities; and strengthens the capacity of that network for advocacy, public/private fundraising and design and implementation of progam interventions.

Africa Alive! has extensive experience Adolescent Reproductive health Issues and HIV/AIDS. Its particular modem of operation is the process of educating to create social change. It works closely with our technical partners Johns Hopkins University Centre for Communication programmes.

Structure: Country office, Regional Office all Managed by National Working Group & a regional Board
Employees/volunteers: Largely volunteers with a Paid National Coordinator manage national Programmes. Director and Programme coordinator paid regional staff.

Experience working with the private sector/ references:
Developed several private sector partnerships including MTV, Coca-Cola, Vodacom, Artists Against AIDS worldwide, South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Universal Records, the XIIIth International AIDS Conference in Durban, South Africa, the Kora Music Awards, the ICASA AIDS Conference in Lusaka and Burkino Faso, and the Ngoma Music Awards (Zambia), Alliance Francaise.
